Volunteer Program

The Woodland welcomes volunteers from Longwood University, Hampden-Sydney College, the Farmville community, staff and residents. Volunteers assist and participate in numerous activities, including music, arts, crafts, games and reading to residents.

The Woodland as an Educational Institute

The Woodland offers an intensive eight week CNA (certified nursing assistant) training and certification program under the auspices of The Virginia State Board of Nursing. Students receive a well-rounded education in all aspects of caring for residents. Upon completing the 240-hour course and successfully passing their state examination, students become certified nursing assistants.
